Whether it’s the summer heat and associated clothing styles or simply a year round preference, many women find themselves seeking out an alternative to the underwire standard bra. But can you still have coverage and even support with a non-conventional bra? True&Co thinks so, putting your comfort at the top of our design requirements across the True Body offering.
Comfortable Bras Alternatives
Ever feel like you want to rip your bra off as soon as you walk in the door? Long day or not, an ill fitting, uncomfortable bra makes it feel like one. If you’re struggling to find your perfect fit in a strap and underwire design, consider healthy bra alternatives, as well as those for larger busts.
Healthy Bra Alternatives
To avoid cutting in at the under bust, sides and/or band, look for wirefree construction made of supportive material, such as True Body. Our soft microfiber is barely there, a second skin that smooths rather than digs in. For further breathability, our mesh styles offer the same lift and support with cooling panels.
Alternative Options for Large Busts
Many True Body styles are available in both standard and full cup, with some designed specifically for DD+ and up to 3X. With a wirefree channel that lifts up to one full inch and available in v-neck, scoop and racerback styles, there’s an alternative for every size, shape and style preference in our lineup.
Strapless Alternatives
If straps are the main issue, again whether based on clothing preferences and/or digging in issues, consider a strapless. These bras are made to be forgotten, delivering comfort without slipping or falling. The ultimate in versatility, a convertible strapless bra can be worn traditionally, detached or criss crossed like a racerback.
Alternative Bra Options
Still not sold? There are certainly non-bra options that give your breasts coverage and shape, such as camisoles, bandeau/strapless, bodysuits, bralettes and of course, braless.
Camisoles
A good camisole should be sleek yet supportive, serving as both a base layer and simple stand alone top. Delivering on this promise, the True Body Adjustable Strap Tank features slim straps and no elastic or bulky seams, making it invisible under clothes and perfect for when you just aren’t feeling a bra.
Bandeaus & Strapless
Similar in style, a bandeau is typically a less structured version of the strapless bra, often a pull over, tube top type design. Both certainly have the benefit of forgoing straps, but a convertible strapless can offer more shape and support, as well as the versatility mentioned above.
Bodysuits
A hallmark style of the 90’s, the bodysuit is back, and better than ever. For a tailored look and effortless layering, our bodysuit styles offers the support and coverage of a bra and underwear all in one. True Body microfiber ensures a smooth fit and second skin comfort. Whether you prefer a curved neckline with adjustable straps and ¾ cheek or a V-neck with bare cheek, snap closures and removable pads make True&Co bodysuits a go-to for work and play.
Bralettes
With less structure but just as much (if not more) style, bralettes have become a crowd favorite, among all shapes and sizes. Relaxed yet retaining shape, True&Co bralettes offer casual comfort in a variety of neck, back and strap styles, with many designed for sizes DD+ as well as full cup.
Braless
While we’re of course partial to a bit of coverage and shape, ultimately at True&Co, we want you to be comfortable in your skin. We design our full lineup to feel like wearing almost nothing, because it’s our favorite too. So go braless when you can and feel like it, we’ll be here for the days or occasions where you might not be able to, in full support of you feeling your best.
