At True&Co., #thefutureisfemale mantra powers what we do day in and day out. We are female founded and female powered, and our work is driven by the goal of making women feel amazing, relaxed, powerful and, yes, sexy in the things they wear every single day.
For us, that means designing the best bras and panties possible, and making sure they fit you perfectly—whether you want a bra that feels like second skin or something a little sexier—which all translates to you feeling both empowered and comfortable, and, most importantly, ready to own your day.
Our founder, Michelle, has always strived to lift women up, figuratively (hello, fit quiz!) and literally, by building out a team of strong women and putting you and your feedback at the center of her business. She’s a girlboss, no doubt. And one thing girlbosses do is share what they’ve learned to help empower the women around them.
On this International Women’s Day, we’d like to share a handful of life lessons from trailblazers who continually inspire us and who are creating a powerful future for females. They run the gamut from treating yourself with respect to being fearless to embracing making mistakes, and they all come from women who epitomize #thefutureisfemale—and, while we’re at it, are “badass,” to boot.Today, we raise a toast to these women, and all you other girlbosses out there, you dreamers and hustlers who are owning your lives and staying true to yourself while you do it. We hope these words inspire you, the way you inspire us.

“Don’t be afraid to make a mistake. But do be afraid to not learn from them.” — Jenna Lyons
"I learned to push the envelope when it comes to asking questions or making requests. And if you hear 'that's not possible,' then to ask 'what is possible,' instead of just saying thank you and leaving.” -- Emily Weiss
“If you're working, you're working hard, and if you're not doing that, what are you doing?” — Leandra Medine
“What would you do if you weren't afraid?” — Sheryl Sandberg
“The world will see you the way you see you, and treat you the way you treat yourself.” — Beyonce
"You just need to have a love for what you're doing. It's not about thinking that it's the cool thing, it's about really believing in it." — Anna Wintour
“Don't wait around for someone else to tell your story. Do it yourself by whatever means necessary.” — Lena Dunham
"We need to accept that we won't always make the right decisions, that we'll screw up royally sometimes—understanding that failure is not the opposite of success, it's part of success." — Arianna Huffington
“Abandon anything about your life and habits that might be holding you back. Learn to create your own opportunities. Know that there is no finish line; fortune favors action. Race balls-out toward the extraordinary life that you’ve always dreamed of, or still haven’t had time to dream up. And prepare to have a hell of a lot of fun along the way.” — Sophia Amoruso
Go forth and conquer, because ladies, today and everyday, is yours. With love, The Girls at True and Co.
