Last week we got to know Nidhi Sunil. This week, we take a peek into the life of Sarra Fleur Abou-El-Haj. Rather than sharing photos of our lovely muses along with our interview, we decided to show off some of the photographs Sarra's shot for TrueandCo. throughout the years. Enjoy!
What's your dream superpower? Super strength. I would love to be able to pick up anything, no matter how big or heavy. It would also be nice to be able to walk through life knowing no one could ever hurt you physically. Sadly, it’s not something most women will ever feel.
What's your spirit animal? My dog, Lou.
Can't live without piece of lingerie? Thinest, lightest cotton or silk nighty.
What do you want to be when you grow up? I never want to be a grown up.
What are your two favorite things in the world? My family and wine. Can’t have one without the other.
What's the last book you read? The Goldfinch, I’m an obsessive reader and I need a new book ASAP. It’s so hard when you finish a great one to try and find a follow up.
What's your secret obsession/guilty pleasure? General Hospital. I’ve been watching since high school. I catch up on Hulu while I’m editing and retouching because you don’t really have to watch. You can just listen. Nothing really happens quickly and they repeat themselves constantly so you don’t have to pay attention.
What scares you? My husband and I just bought an apartment and we are renovating. I’m scared it will NEVER BE FINISHED!
What's your favorite thing about yourself? My resilience. It’s pretty tough being a photographer, woman and mom in this city. You have to be able to take all the punches and keep on going.
This week, our art director Nikki tells us Sarra's bio from her perspective- I met Sarra in 2004 and knew we would be friends for life. Not only did we mutually admire each others' work, but we both loved bad horror movies, amusement parks and (at the time) cigarettes. Sarra has continued to be an inspiring collaborator so when I imagined showing the sexier side of our collection in a not-so-obvious way, I immediately thought of her. Next on the agenda: Can't wait to watch Saw 27 or whatever together.
